i-TEEN Visit

iteenDentistry for adolescents and teens is a fundamental part of Dr Cara’s practice. We all know teens are busy.  They want to do things their way and on their own time.  Going to the dentist  isn’t at the top of their priority list.  But, it is a fact, if you don’t take care of your teeth you will lose them!  A visit to the dentist every 6 months and some brushing effort on your part actually isn’t a bad alternative!

Straight Talk About Teen Teeth

iFACT 1:  Teens can actually have a higher rate of cavities due to frequent snacking, busy schedules and poor nutrition.  In fact, cavities may be more of a problem for you during the teen years than it ever has been before!

iFACT 2: Healthy smiles are more attractive!  Not only is a clean, white smile a sign that you care about how you look, but nobody finds yellow teeth, swollen gums, or bad breath appealing.  Brush, floss and keep your dental appointments and you are on your way to a beautiful smile!

iteeniFACT 3: You probably have all your permanent teeth with the possible exception of your wisdom teeth (third molars). These are your lifetime teeth.  It is hard to imagine that someday you will be “old” – like 30!  But you will, The decisions you make now on how much time you put into your teeth will set the stage for whether or not you will require crowns, extensive dental work or even loose your teeth!  You’re smart; to avoid any of this all you have to do is brush and floss!
